Freeriding is also great for beginners as it allows riders to just enjoy themselves and explore the mountain without the pressure of having to pull off some sick manoeuvres just yet.

When Freeriding, you need soft snowboard boots, plate bindings and strap or flow-in bindings, and is a great style to ride with if you still haven't decided just which one is for you.

Most snowboards available on the market at the moment are Freeriding snowboards and include such characteristics that separate themselves from other boards as:

" Freeriding boards generally being longer with narrower widths, deeper side cuts and are more directional in shape.

" The nose of the board will usually be longer and the rider's stance positioned more towards the board's rear, which makes it easier to hang back when riding through more deep powder terrains.

" Though you might feel a little clumsy the first time you try out Freeriding as you try to make sense of the natural terrain of the mountain around you, it does take a little embarrassment of falling on your arse and getting back up again to get to the stage where you finally get to pull sick moves and achieve wicked air. Trust us, it'll all be worth it in the end.
